For the Leading Cities delegation, the second day of the #SCEWC15 has been a very productive day defined by the organization of different meeting ranging from Metropolitan Area of Barcelona, and his vice-president and chief of international cooperation Alfred Bosch and his team, to the Director of International Relations in the Mayor of Barcelona’s office.
These meetings have created the foundation for a new phase of development for Leading Cities in Barcelona. We have engaged and are now involving new actors and stakeholders in our project of urban transformation and innovation through knowledge, sustainability and technological transfer.
In addition this participation in the Smart Cities Expo and World Congress has given Leading Cities the opportunity to provide leadership and support for a different kind of conferences, where mayors, businessmen, public servants and academics had shared transformative ideas for urban innovation that can be implemented by Leading Cities and our partner cities from around the world.
The day concluded with the annual award ceremony recognizing the best Smart Cities projects and ideas as well as naming the 2015 Smart City. The Smart Cities award winners were:

Innovative Idea: Findeter for The Digital Diamond. Caribe & Santanderes (Colombia)
2015 Smart City: Peterborough, UK for a Living Smart and Circular Urban Laboratory
