Joseph Albanese –Commodore Builders– Board Chair
Joe Albanese is founder and CEO of Commodore Builders, a $300 million Construction Management/ General Contracting Firm located in Newton, Massachusetts. He is a Registered Professional Engineer, with a degree in Civil Engineering from UMass Lowell and MBA from Boston University. His life-long career in construction has included management and executive positions with A. J. Martini, Inc., George B. H. Macomber Company, and Shawmut Design and Construction, before founding Commodore in 2002.
As a U.S. Navy Officer, in 2007 Joe mobilized to the Middle East for 10 months of active military service, serving as Commander of the 22nd Naval Construction Regiment. He retired as a Captain, U.S. Navy Civil Engineer Corps in September 2009, after 28 years military service. His numerous military awards include the Legion of Merit and Meritorious Service Medal (2 awards).
Robert Buckley –Riemer & Braunstein– Board Treasurer
Robert Buckley is a partner at the firm of Riemer & Braunstein. Land use planning, commercial real estate law, and environmental law are the focus of Bob’s practice. He is recognized for his experience in developing comprehensive zoning initiatives for mixed-use development projects and his expertise in environmental issues, including wetlands and Brownfield sites.
His work on several projects has been cited by Massachusetts officials as examples of creative and responsive zoning. Bob’s projects have been featured in local and national publications, including The Boston Globe, Boston Business Journal, and The Wall Street Journal. He also has written articles for several publications and has spoken at forums on land use and zoning issues associated with commercial real estate development.

Michael is the founding President and CEO of Leading Cities. As President and CEO, Michael establishes and develops relationships with municipal governments, private sector businesses and universities around the world, creating a global network of partner cities dedicated to creating business development and government cooperation opportunities and implementing public policy that effectively addresses the shared challenges facing 21st century cities.
Michael has served as Special Assistant for White House Operations to two Presidents, policy research analyst to the former Prime Minister of Ireland, and Director of Development for United Way of Massachusetts Bay and Merrimack Valley.

Robert Beal –Related Beal
Robert L. Beal oversees the Beal Family Office. Mr. Beal is a graduate of Harvard College, Class of 1963, cum laude, and Harvard Business School, Class of 1965. Prior to joining The Beal Companies in 1976 (now known as Related Beal), Mr. Beal served as Vice President of The Beacon Companies, investment-builders, from 1965 to 1976.
Mr. Beal is active in professional businesses and organizations both locally and internationally. He is a member of the American Society of Real Estate Counselors, a past director and chairman of the Artery Business Committee, and a past president of the Greater Boston Real Estate Board. He is the former chair of the Boston Municipal Research Bureau, Chair of The Taubman Center for State and Local Government at Harvard as well as the Chair of the School of Social Science, Urban Affairs and Public Policy at Northeastern University.

Herby Duverné –Taino Consulting Group
Herby Duverné is the Principal and CEO of Taino Consulting Group, LLC (Taino), a cyber and physical security and professional services provider in the government and private sectors. He leads the company’s efforts for explosive growth with a laser focus on internal and external branding, sales growth and a commitment to sustained superior client services. From 2012 to 2017, he magnified Taino’s workforce more than ten-fold. The company possesses a Defense Security Services secret clearance, operates in multiple states and currently holds contracts with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and several with the U.S. Department of Defense.
Before becoming an entrepreneur, Mr. Duverné held the position as director of emergency management and deputy director of aviation security at the Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport), which oversees Logan International Airport. His leadership directly contributed to Logan Airport’s designation as “One of the best, most secure airports in the country” by then-TSA Administrator John S. Pistole.
