<div>Pharem have developed <a href="https://www.zymatic.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Zymatic</a>, an enzyme-based treatment technology which offers treatment of organic micropollutants. It can be tailored to fit broader treatment requirements for municipal wastewater treatment plants and more specific treatment for industry processes.</div><div><br></div><div>Municipalities and industries around the world are now invited to compete for a no-cost pilot of a Zymatic installation. The installation will be tailored to the specific needs of the applicant.</div>

<p class="ql-align-justify"><span style="color: rgb(55, 55, 55);">AstraZeneca has been chosen as the winner, in recognition of their vision for a more sustainable and resilient society and the positive impact deploying this technology can have on surrounding communities. Through this pilot project, AstraZeneca’s largest manufacturing site, Sweden Operations, in Södertälje Sweden, will partner with Pharem Biotech’s Zymatic solution to more effectively treat wastewater by removing organic pollutants and ultimately protect the local environment.</span></p><p><br></p>

<p><span style="color: rgb(34, 34, 34);">According to Greenpeace, U.S. households discarded 51 million tons of plastic waste in 2021, of which almost 95% ended up in landfills, oceans or scattered in the atmosphere.&nbsp;If this pattern continues, global plastic use and waste will nearly triple by 2060, with only a meager increase in plastic recycling, according to the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development.</span></p>
